What did we learn about this tuesday at insite?
On tuesday we looked at the book soul sista. At the moment i think most of us are at the most self concious stage in our life. Olivia did a talk on loving your self the way you are. As tacky as it may sound God made you in his own image and you are special to him. He didnt make ur eyes or your nose wrong he made it exactly perfect to him, sooo you should feel happy in the fact that theres someone who loves you just the way you are. God dosnt care about makeup or how many spots you have he loves you just the way you are! thats an amazing thought. Also did you know every bad or disencouraging thing you say to someone will take 9 nice compliments to rebuild your self esteem, so see how many nice things you can say this week and im sure the favour will be returned. This is why we did the game where you write something nice about the person next to you, most of you found it EASY to do that so why not so it more often!

What is freewill?
This is another topic we have covered at insite. Freewill is the choice to make our own decisions, it's like my puzzle theroy ok some of you may have hear it before: God was doing a puzzle, he gave us a piece of the puzzle as a present and he gave it to us to do whatever we want with it, and he promised he would never take it back. God completed most of the puzzle it was a huge one with millions of pieces but being God he completed it all, except he had one piece missing our piece, he asked us for the piece back however he was not going to force us to give it to him because it was a present. If we gave our piece to God he could put it in the right place because he is God and can see the bigger picture it may seem to not fit at first, but he knows what is doing and will put it in the right place. This is like freewill God has given it to us for a reason, to make mistakes because he does not want to force us to love him or do what he says, if he did that we would be like robots and we would live a pointless life. However in the bible God promises that if we follow him he will look after us and although it may seem the hardest root at the time to totally rely on God he will bring you so many rewards. One of these rewards is heaven to spend eternity with him! wow When i first had the idea for insite it seemed like an impossible task, i didnt really know any other chrisitans, and i dont think most of my friends really even understood that i was one, so when i felt God telling me it was something he wanted me to do i was very suprised. However i chose to follow him and by doing so i have ended up with so many christian friends. This is not the reason insite was started up BUT i feel it has definatly been a gift from god. Ok this may all sound like ramble to you but if you take anything away from it remember that god has given us freewill because he loves us and wants the best for us.... amen!

do i have to go to church to be a christian?
No you dont have to go to church! However church is a place to thank God for all the things he has done for us and ask for things. Also it answers lots of different questions that we all have about God, such as the ones that are featured on this page. As a chrisitan you will probably believe that God is going to look after you and and that there is a heaven when you die, so i would say that if there is a God you believe in and who would do all of that for you would you not want to learn more about him and praise him for the things he has done? Also as my dad has often told me, you cant have a fire without coal, if you take the coal away the fire may burn for a while but will probably slowly burn out. this is trying to show that church keeps you intune with God and without it, it is easy to drift away from him.Church is not the building it is the people inside and so we need each other, this is another reason why church is so good.

How do i become a christian?
To become a chrisitan you first have to understand that God sent his son jesus to die on the cross for our sins. Then you have to except it. DONT think that to become a chrisitan you have to be perfect and make no mistakes, ive often heard people say " i cant be a chrisitan ive done to many bad things God cant love me" This isnt true! God loves you faults and all. DO take that step of faith as stupid as it may seem it changes your life! Although its not always the easiest choice, to know that there is someone out there who thinks your great just the way you are is amazing. I feel that i can live my life to the full because i know that there is more to life than material things. All it takes is a simple prayer something like "hey God, i know ive done things wrong and im sorry, thankyou for sending your son jesus to die on the cross for me, i want to live for you, please help me.. amen"! wow as easy that! |
